Hypnotherapy for Anxiety | Anxiety Specialist | Poole
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions in the UK. According to the Office for National Statistics, in 2022/23 an average of 37.1% of women and 29.9% of men reported high levels of anxiety — affecting people of all ages and backgrounds. If you are struggling with anxiety, you are far from alone.
Hypnotherapy and mindfulness are highly effective, evidence-informed approaches for anxiety relief — yet many people are unaware of just how much they can help. As a qualified anxiety specialist with over eleven years’ experience and having studied neuroscience (the science of how the brain works), I have helped numerous clients overcome anxiety and anxiety-related issues, giving them lasting tools to move forward with their lives.
How I Work: Clinical Hypnotherapy & Mindfulness for Anxiety
Most clients come to me for clinical hypnotherapy and some also choose to explore mindfulness-based practices to help manage their symptoms day to day. Whichever approach we use, clients consistently describe their sessions as deeply calming, relaxing, and uplifting. I use solution-focused hypnotherapy because I know from experience just how remarkably effective it is.
What to Expect from Anxiety Hypnotherapy Sessions
Does Hypnotherapy Work for Anxiety?
Hypnotherapy is a talking therapy that involves a therapeutic conversation about your experience of anxiety and an exploration of techniques that can help you to manage and reduce your symptoms. During each session we review your progress and identify things to work upon.
The use of hypnosis has a direct effect upon the brain. For most people this involves entering into a state of deep relaxation, which calms the sympathetic nervous system. In this relaxed state your subconscious mind is more receptive to receiving and integrating the positive and beneficial suggestions that I use.
How many sessions will I need?
That entirely depends upon your individual needs. Some clients respond quickly to therapy with me but others who are experiencing chronic or deep-rooted problems may need several sessions. In general, most people notice an improvement over a course of 4 - 6 sessions.
I am based in Broadstone near Poole for in-person appointments and I also work online.

What to Expect from Anxiety Hypnotherapy Sessions
- Healing: Experience the deeply relaxing, soothing effects of trance hypnosis — a proven way to calm an anxious nervous system and begin genuine recovery.
- Transformative: Learn to manage your thoughts and feelings, release unhelpful patterns of behaviour, and regain a sense of control. Drawing on neuroscience, I will help you reframe your thinking and effectively "rewire" your brain.
- Educational: Understand the relationship between your conscious mind (thoughts, actions, and behaviours) and your subconscious mind (the source of fears, worries, and phobias). You will learn simple, practical techniques to break the vicious cycle of anxiety and negative thinking.
- Safe and Relaxing: My approach is gentle, caring, and impactful. If you have never tried hypnosis before, I will explain everything clearly beforehand and tailor my approach to your individual needs — so you feel safe, comfortable, and fully at ease throughout.
- Potentially Life-Changing: You already have the capacity to overcome anxiety. I will support you every step of the way, giving you a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and practical solutions that you can continue to use long after our sessions end — helping to prevent the same problems from recurring.
- Free Resources: Every client receives a personalised hypnotherapy recording to listen to between sessions — reinforcing the solution-focused work we cover together. Bespoke recordings are also available at an additional cost.
